Abstract

Singing is first monograph on singing, composed by Yuan dynasty Yannan Zhian. It summarizes the practice and theory of classic opera and vocal music. It has realistic use for reference and instructive significance to vocal music activities in a general sense, because it sums up basic laws about singing methods. The paper analyses On Singing from five aspects, and is further sure of its place and function in musical history of our country.
