Abstract
Objective:To find out the characteristics of health needs,health demands and utilization of health services of urban and rural residents in Hebei Province to offer basis information for decision making.Method:(20 529) residents of(5 998) families were selected randomly by multiple stages sampling and surveyed by using standardized questionnaires.Results:The two-week prevalence rate is 18.75%.It is higher in urban areas than that in rural areas.Chronic disease prevalence rate is 16.9%.It is higher in urban areas than that in rural areas.Sick people who seek medical care account for 14.32% of the total population.The sick people who do not seek medical care account for 57.60% of the sick population.The annual hospitalizaion rate is 2.56%.Conclusion:It shows an increase in health needs and a decrease in health demands and utilization rate of health services.Effective measures should be taken to enhance the utilization rate of health services.
