Abstract
The characteristics and forming conditions of staurolite and kyanite and sillimanite in the metamorphic rocks in LouFan District, ShanXi Province have bee investigated. EPMA and the mineral paragenesis and the estimated calculation of geothermometer indicate that Staurolite and Kyanite in the North of the Xichuan are formed at the higher pressure (P = 5 - 7Kpa) and the lower temperature (T = 520 - 550℃) , whereas Sillimanite in the South is controlled by relatively higher temperature (T = 570 - 600 ℃ ) and the lower pressure (P 3Kpa) , which is dominated by the fault of Xichuan river.
