Abstract

Objective To evaluate the central corneal thickness in patients with dry eye. Methods The central corneal thickness was detected in 30 patients with dry eye (60 eyes) and 30 healthy individuals (60 eyes) by Orbscan corneal topograph. Results The mean central corneal thickness was (0.553±0.025) mm, (0.547±0.030) mm and (0.540±0.019) mm for patients with mild, moderate, severe dry eye, respectively. The mean central corneal thickness was (0.559±0.027) mm for healthy individuals. There was no statistically significant difference in the mean central corneal thickness between the patients with dry eye and healthy individuals (P0.05). Conclusion Central central corneal thickness measurements do not differ significantly in patients with dry eye, compared with healthy control subjects.
