Abstract
The paper analyzes ten optimum areas for growing Jatrop ha curcas. Through the comparison between Jatropha curcas growth, the results demo nstrate that it is favorable to grow such plant in Yuanmou County. Besides, the oil content of its seeds is as high as 55.5%. So it is an important approach to accelerate the development of Jatropha curcas in the county so as to greatly imp rove local environment as well as further explore comprehensive utilization pote ntial of the plant. Its exploration and development will obtain noticeable benef its from energy utilization, environmental protection, social and economic devel opment.
