Abstract
The features of root nodules of 4 Hippophae species from Gansu and Qinghai were investigated, and Frankia were isolated from nodulation. The root nodules showed different size, shapes, locality, colors, and nodulation ratio in different seasons, environments and species. The nodules were less with altitude increasing and the nodule size of H.thibetana was bigger among 4 Hippophae species. After the root nodules were cultured by slicing method,53 Frankia strains were obtained and the species were different in same or different Hippophae species.
