Abstract
Ni-based coating was prepared by irradiating the mixture powders of Ni-Cr-B-Si on 16Mn mild steel. The microstructure and hardness of the coating were examined. The effect of laser power on the microstructure and property of the Ni-based coating were investigated. The Ni-based alloy layer could be divided into dendrite and equiaxial crystal. The hardness was 400 - 500 HV. Theγ-Ni structure and preferential orientation were observed in the laser cladding.
