Abstract

Microemulsion of gemini surfactant sodium α-sulphonated stearic acid polyethyleneglycol diester, butanol, octane and water system and its stability were studied.Phase diagrams of the microemulsion system were drawn. The influence of different carbon chain lengths of alcohol under the different temperatures to form the microemulsion and its stability were discussed,in addition to the influence of 0.1mol/LKCl,NaOH and HCl solutions to the microemulsion system. The results show that,in certain temperature range, increasing temperature and carbon chain length are propitious to form ation of the W/O microemulsion and to the stability.Electrolyte solution may generally reduce the microemulsion region. And the conductivity of the microemulsion is basically the same by taking electrolyte solution and pure water as reaction media.
