Abstract

Objective:To investigate the correlation between the serum levels of thyroid peroxidase antibody(TPOAb) and thyroglobulin antibody(TGAb) of patients with hyperthyroidism before ~(131)Ⅰtherapy and the incidence of the early hypothyroidism after ~(131)Ⅰ intervention. Methods:By negative or positive results of TPOAb and TGAb,165 patients with hyperthyroidism were divided into groups of negative TPOAb and TGAb(n=10),positive TPOAband TGAb(n=26) and positive both TPOAb and TGAb(n=129),and the incidence of early hypothyroidism was compared among the three groups after ~(131)Ⅰ therapy.Further, the 129 cases with positive TPOAb and TGAb were sub-divided into three groups by level of TPOAb and TGAb,i.e.,group A(n=66),B(n=54) and C(n=9),for examining the relationship of the levels of TPOAb and TGAb before undergoing treatment of early hypothyroidism. Results:There was no significant differences concerning the incidences of early hypothyroidism among three groups(χ2=1.35,P0.05) and the similar results were found in the 3 sub-groups(χ2=0.89,P0.05).Conclusion:The serum levels of TPOAb and TGAb seem to have little implication in estimating the incidence of the early hypothyroidism after ~(131)Ⅰ therapy for patients with hyperthyroidism.
