Research on extraction of orange peel pigment with central composite design

Abstract

Dried orange peel powder was used as the raw material in the experiments,and its pigment was extracted under the ultrasonic wave with power of 320W.Pigment relative yield was as the index,and the four factors of extraction temperature,ethanol concentration,extraction time and liquid-solid ratio were studied.Experimental arrangements were designed by the central composite program of Design Expert 7.0software.Experimental results showed that the relative yield of orange peel pigment was affected by the selected factors and their cross-roles.The best extraction conditions of orange peel pigment with ultrasonic wave were obtained through analysis of the experiments.The best extraction conditions as follows:extraction temperature was 40℃,the ethanol concentration was 70%(V/V),extraction time was 20min and liquid-solid ratio was 10∶l.With this process,the higher relative yields of orange peel pigment could be obtained.
