A case of Tuberculosis Verrucosa Cutis

Abstract

A 54-year-old man had presented with more than 10 year history of verrucous growth on his wrist. A skin biopsy from the verrucous plaque showed hyperkeratesis and aceratosis,marked hyperkeratosis of the epidermis with pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia. The upper and mid portion of the dermis showed tuberculoid infiltrate,without caseous necrosis. The mantoux test was positive. Fite′s stain for acid fast bacilli was negative. Fungal culture from the tissue specimen were negative. These features were consistent with tuberculosis verrucosa cutis.
