Abstract

Objective To evaluate the correlation between MSCT features, pathology and angiogenesis of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Methods Totally 48 patients with HCC proved by pathology were enrolled. The MVD and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) were examined with SP immunohistochemical technique. The relationship of MSCT manifestations(including diameter of tumors, capsule patterns, tumor necrosis and metastasis) with pathological grading and MVD,expression of VEGF were analyzed. Results MVD in VEGF positive expression HCC was higher than that in VEGF negative expression HCC(P0.01).The MVD and expression of VEGF in grade Ⅰ HCC were lower than those in grade Ⅲ and Ⅳ HCC,in grade Ⅱ HCC were lower than that in grade Ⅳ HCC(all P0.05).The difference of MVD and VEGF positive rates were statistically significant between HCC with complete capsule and incomplete capsule, with and without central necrosis, with and without invasion and metastasis on MSCT.Conclusion MSCT features of HCC,including border, necrosis and metastasis are significantly related to MVD and expression of VEGF,which plays an important role in the growth and aggressiveness of HCC.
