Modes of Irony in the Novels of the 1990s

One striking characteristic of the novels written in the 1990s is the use of irony. In view of the change in the concept of irony and the use of irony in writings, literature of irony during that period can be classified into four kinds: verbal irony, irony of situation, structure irony and parody, from which the ironic features in novels of the 1990s are discussed.
