Abstract
In order to improve the dyeing properties of the plant indigo dye,the optimum ultrasonic dyeing process of pure cotton fabric with the plant indigo dye is determined through the orthogonal experiment, and the effects and mechanism of ultrasonic wave on dyeing properties of the plant indigo are investigated. The experimental results indicated that the optimum ultrasonic dyeing recipe is hydrosulfite 15 g/L,sodium hydroxide 5 g/L,dyeing 4 min at 30℃,and ultrasonic power density 0.5 W/cm2.The ultrasonic wave applied in the dyeing process with plants indigo dye can not only improve the rubbing and soaping fastness, but also shorten the dyeing time, increase uptake rate and lower dyeing temperature.
