Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the method and efficacy of endoscopic urethrotomy for treating urethral stricture. Methods:The clinical data in 24 cases of urethral stricture treated by endoscopic urethrotomy were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The operation in 24 cases was successfully completed.During urethrotomy by electric knife, the excessive scar tissues were removed in 19 cases. After operation,79% of cases had smooth voiding with the maximum urine flow rate of more than 15mL/s.Whereas,those in poor efficacy had longer section of urethral stricture and were cured by converting to open operation. Conclusion:Endoscopic urethrotomy has satisfactory efficcacy for treating urethral stricture.
