Abstract
The effect of quenching and tempering performed before general heat treatment on the microstructures and mechanical properties of the new Nb-added martensitic heat-resistant stainless steel 1Cr16Ni4Nb was studied. The results show that the microstructures of 1Cr16Ni4Nb steel are more homogeneous, and the toughness improves after adding quenching and tempering.
