Abstract
The amount of sediment in natural river is high at large. As contamination and the carrier of contamination, sediment is pollutants to water. On the other hand, the water body could be cleaned by the adsorption of sediment. The influence of sediment on transport and transformation of pollutants was reviewed. Adsorption of sediment praticles change the form and sistribution of pollutants in the natural water bodie. And the effect of absorbing pollutants in sediment was siscussed in this paper. The factors of influence on absorbing pollutants in sediment were summarized. Related problems that need further study were discussed based on the present researchwork.
