Abstract

Preliminary studies on the bioactivities of the extracts from Rhododendron molle flowers against beet armyworm Laphygma exigua were conducted. The values of medium antifeeding concentration (AFC 50 ) of R Ⅲ and ethyl acetate (EtOAc) extract against 3 rd larvae of L.exigua were 30.71 and 808.82 mg·L -1 in no choice tests, and were 7.30 and 650.43 mg·L -1 in choice tests, respectively.Given the treated diet with R Ⅲ and EtOAc extract for 48 h to larvae and after 5 days treatment, the values of IC 50 (the medium inhibitory concentration) were 13.11 and 1 153.78 mg·L -1 ,resp.
