Abstract
This article shows how his eventful life experience and the traditional outlook on nature of Zhuang Zhou and zen determined creation of Shi Tao's landscape paintings. It tries to reveal that formation of the spirit of his landscape paintings is a process in which Shi Tao's own attitude toward life developed in an elusive way.
