Abstract

Subjective spirit refers to the artists' subjective initiative in terms of the object of art——the connotation of the object. In Mr. Wen's views, the subjective spirit is the art itself. The main body of Mr. Wen's thought of subjective spirit is affection and art's form. Mr. Wen criticized the authors and the works that were poor in subjective initiative. However, Mr. Wen's theory has its limitations.
