Empirical research into relationship between industrial agglomeration and urbanization in China

This paper analyzes the relationship between the industrial agglomeration and urbanization progress of China from 1978 to 2005 by dynamic econometric analysis methods as Co-integration Test and Causality Tests,and the results show that a long-term balanced collaborative interactive relationship exists in the two.The industrial agglomeration is obviously an important factor to have great effect on urbanization and urbanization progress also affects the change of industrial agglomeration.Industrial agglomeration has hastened the population agglomeration,which composes the basis of the city agglomeration as an important motive force of urbanization.The larger a city gets,the larger the population gets together,the stronger the agglomeration power is,the stronger its industrial centripetal force in the vicinity is.
