Abstract

Objective:To assess the association of U.urealyticum gene clusters 1 and 2 with nongonococcal urethritis/cervicitis. Methods:Urethral/cervical samples were collected from patients with and without non-gonococcal urethritis/cervicitis.U.urealyticum were detected by culture and gene clusters were classified by PCR.(Results): 173 samples were collected totally.Gene cluster 2 were dominant among the 173 samples:59.5% samples from male and 54% from female patients were gene cluster 2 positive. There were no statistically significance in the prevalence rate of Uu gene clusters 1 and 2 between the urethritis/cervicitis and the non-urethritis/cervicitis group. Conclusion:This study suggested that gene clusters of U.urealyticum were unlikely to(associated) with the development of NGU/MPC.
