Abstract

Using the research methods of regional investigation and location test, the soil physical properties of different forest types in Meijiang District and their effects on water conservation function were systematically studied. The results showed that sand grain content in surface soil of Pinus massoniana forest land was highest among 4 kinds of forest lands and that of natural evergreen broad-leaved forest was lowest. The clay content in 4 kinds of forest lands were as follows: P.massoniana forest land artificial eucalypt forest land bush forest land natural evergreen broad-leaved forest land. The bulk density and specific gravity of surface soil in P.massoniana forest land was largest, followed by bush forest land, that of natural evergreen broad-leaved forest land was smallest. The porosity and natural water content in 4 kinds of forest lands were as follows: natural evergreen broad-leaved forest land artificial eucalypt forest land bush forest land P.massoniana forest land.In the vertical direction of soil layer, the change difference of the physical properties of broad-leaved forest land was greater and that of coniferous forest was relatively smaller.
