Abstract

The uniqueness of ZHANG Cheng zhi in the contemporary literary arena is an inevitable product of his distinctive cultural psychology.The present paper is an attempt to unveil the spiritual interior of the writer through a scrutiny of his ego, one that is idealistic yet skeptical of all ideals, expressive but refraining from all expressions, and obsessed with bewilderment that makes for an absolute solitude.
