Abstract

To solve the problem relied on the loading path for the finite element numerical simulation in metal sheet forming when the strain forming limit is used as the sheet forming criteria,the stress forming limit is used as the criteria and a special finite element analysis program is developed based on relations between the strain and the stress in the metal sheet plastic deformation,and the Hill′s quadratic anisotropic plastic potential criteria based on the commercial finite element software DYNAFORM.By analyzing two examples of deep drawing parts using the developed program,it is shown that the program can realize the prediction analysis for the metal sheet forming limit by the forming limit stress criteria.
