Abstract

The effects of sucrose and boric acid concentration on the pollen germination and pollen tube elongation were studied in this article.A liquid medium good for pepper pollen germination has been developed through a procedure of optimization.Over 63.77% of pollen germination rate was obtained with the medium composed of Ca(NO_3)_2 200 mg/L +MgSO_4 200 mg/L+KNO_3 100 mg/L+H_3BO_3 100 mg/L+10% sucrose. The overage length of pollen tubes reached 0.361 mm.
