Abstract
During the new epoch of reform, the discussion and practice launched by the government and the Communist Party of China(CPC) have experienced 4 stages. Since 1992, has entrenched formally the reform target of establishing the socialist market economic system, which is a so-called China Mode development way led by the Deng Xiaoping's theory. The shift from the planned economy to the socialist market economy represented a new historic breakthrough in reform and opening up and brought about entirely new prospects for China's economic, political and cultural progress. This paper tries to evaluate the development level of Chinese market economy.
