Abstract
Objective To study the protective effect of gemifibrozil on myocardial ischemia reperfusion in rabbits fed by high diet. Methods 24 New Zealand rabbits were divided into ischemia reperfusion group(I/R),gemifibrozil treatment and ischemia reperfusion group(GF+I/R) and sham operation group.The plasma levels of CK,LDH,IL-6,CRP in each group were measured before ischemia and after reperfusion,and the size of infarct myocardium were detected in each group,the myocardial ultrastruction alteration with electron microscope and inflammatory cells aggregation of myocardium with microscope were observed at the same time. Result The levels of CK,LDH,CRP,IL-6 of the I/R group and GF+I/R group were higher than that of sham operation group after ischemia and after reperfusion(P0.01).The plasma levels of CK,LDH,CRP,IL-6 of the I/R group were higher than that of GF+I/R group after ischemia reperfusion(P0.01).The myocardial infarct size was significantly smaller in GF+I/R group than the I/R group(P0.05).Gemifibrozil could reduce significantly myocardial injury observed by microscope and electric microscope.Conclusion Gemifibrozil provides a protective effect against myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury in rabbits.This cardioprotection might be mediated through antiinflammatory mechanisms.
