Radiofrequency ablation of AFP-positive patients with liver cancer

Objective:To observe the AFP changes before and after radiofreguency aslation(RFA)treatment of liver cancer,and to investigate the relationship between AFP changes and tumor recurrence.Methods:The liver cancer patients with positive AFP were treated by RFA.After 6 months,AFP and imaging were detected in different time periods.The patients with AFP changing from negative to Positive were treated by RFA repeatedly,or interventional treated.Then the AFP changes were observed.Results:After RFA treatment,the blood supply of tumor of all patients reduced,the tumor were liquefied or the tumor volume were reduced;after 8～20 d,the negative rate of AFP was 71.42%(35 cases),the reduction rate was 12.24%(6 cases),no change 16.32%(8 cases),after 2,3,6 months,the positive changing rate of AFP was 2.85%,14.28%,and 20%,respectively,P0.05,P0.01).AFP as changed negative after treatment.Conclusion: The AFP changing from negative to positive in AFP-positive hepatocellular carcinoma patients after RFA treatment is helpful to predict relapse and eraluate the curative efficacy of REA.
