Abstract
The formation and development of the western market socialist thought is earlier than the bud of socialist market economy thought in China.In the paper,it is analyzed that western market socialist thought firstly broke through the traditional idea,which considers the relationship between the ownership and social ideology being closely and inseparable.Then it is pointed out that market is a neutral mechanism existing in different ownerships,which is not only one means to promote economy development effectively,but also one encouraging mechanism.Therefore,it is of a great significance in theory and reality for perfection and development of our socialism market economy to understand and study western market socialism thought.
