Abstract
Based on a description of the connotations of scientific spirit and humanistic spirit,this paper discusses the necessity of combination of scientific spirit with humanistic spirit.It expounds the great significance of cultivating scientific spirit and humanistic spirit of university students from the perspectives of the status quo of university students' thought,the social function of scientific spirit and humanistic spirit,the trends of higher education reform and the cultivation of students' spirit of innovation.It is concluded that we must understand the importance and urgency of this mission,take effective measures and strive to construct a harmonious campus.
