Abstract
A research result on the niches of major pests and their natural enemies between BT cotton and common cotton showed that major pests and their natural enemies were similar, but the number of cotton bollworm on BT cotton was lower than that on common cotton. The niche breadth index of insect population on BT cotton was higher than that on common cotton. The niche overlap index of cotton bollworm and Aphis gossypii Glover to four natural enemies on BT cotton was higher than that on common cotton. The reason was analysed by the theory of niches.
