COMBINED PNEUMATIC AND ULTRASOUND LITHOTRIPSY SYSTEM FOR THE TREATMENT OF UPPER URINARY STONES BY 82 REPORTS

Abstract

Objective To study the clinical effects and operation experiences of using the 3rd lithotripsy system for the treatment of upper urinary stones via percutaneous nephroscope lithotripsy(PCNL) and ureteroscope lithotripsy(URL).Methods We analyzed 82 upper urinary stone cases of using PCNL and URL in our hospital.Results 75 cases removed the stones successfully for the first time;only 7 cases removed the stones for the second time.The mean operation time was 90.0 minutes.The mean renal-fistula time was 4.0 days.The mean hospital staying time was 6.5 days.Only 1 case hemorrhage after the operation.Stone clearance rate was 92%.Conclusion PCNL and URL are good methods for the treatment of upper urinary stones,with advantages of minor trauma,fast recovery,short hospital time,high clearance rate of stones and few complications.
