Abstract

Taking the TOP 10 big steel producing countries in the world as the object of study, this paper estimates international market share and international trade competition index of every link in steel industry chains from the year of 1996 to 2006,respectively.The research results show that international market share of Chinese steel industry is improving steadily, while its international trade competition capacity is still weak.Restriction on Russian steel industry by upstream industry such as energy and resources is the smallest.while the development of steel industry in China,Japan,Korea,Germany and Italy is seriously restricted by upstream industry. The International trade competition of downstream industry in the steel industry chains in India,Brazil,Ukraine and Russia is generally weak while that of in Japan,Germany and Italy is strong.
