Abstract
Objective To explore the dominance of transurethral enucleation of the prostate with abdominal incision for the large volume of benign prostate hyperplasia(BPH)compared to transurethral resection of the prostate. Methods One hundred and sixty patients with BPH,the volume of prostate over 80 ml,were divided into A(n=80)and B(n=80)groups randomly.Group A underwent transurethral enucleation of the prostate with abdominal incision, and group B underwent transurethral resection of the prostate. The clinical data of operative time, blood loss, incidence of complication and postoperative urination were compared. Results In group A and group B,the operation time was 58±16 min and 135±17 min, blood loss was 89±23 ml and 189±21.5 ml respectively. No transurethral resection syndrome(TURS)was observed in group A,4 patients with TURS in group B.The differences were significant statistically(P0.05).Conclusions Transurethral enucleation of the prostate with abdominal incision for the large volume of BPH got the advantages of minimal invasion and high efficiency, and this surgery shoud be widely applied.
