Treatment of explosive medial orbital fracture through the ethmiod sinus under nasal endoscope

Objective To study the clinical curative effects of explosive medial orbital fracture through the ethmiod sinus under nasal endoscope. Methods In 25 cases with the explosive orbital fracture,nasal endoscope was used to remove the ethmoid sinus atrial septum and the traumatic orbital lamina,temponaded the ethmoidal operated cavity with the prepared porous silica-gel path whose convex outward,then pressed and reposited the orbital lamia. Results After 3-month to 2-year follow-up,22 cases had been cured,accounting for 88% and 2 cases had residual peripheral double vision with 96% total effectiveness after operation.No one had intraorbital infection and other complications. Conclusions It's an effective way to treat the medial orbial fracture through the ethmoid sinus under the nasal endoscope,with little wound and short operation time,without any scar on the face.
