Abstract
Medical insurance system reform is a known difficult issue and is concerned by masses in the world.Its difficulty mainly lies in cost control and in coordination of the relation between hospital,insurants and insurers.In China,it is also difficult to extend the coverage of the medical insurance system and to raise medical insurance funds.From the experience of the medical insurance system reform in western countries since the 1970s,general trends of each country is to control hospitalization costs to save budgetary expenditure,to set up new insurance covering nursing the aged people to deal with aging crisis,to develop health service in communities,to combine medical institutions with insurance organizations and so on.Learning this experience is beneficial to the reform of China.
