Abstract
Richness, species diversity, dominance and evenness indices were applied to studying the three different plantation communities—Phellodendron amurense plantation,Larix kaempferi plantation and Cryptomeria fortunei-Cunninghamia lanceolata mixed forest community in the Forest Region of Kuanba. The results were as follows: the Phellodendron amurense plantation community had a lower richness and diversity in tree layer, but had a higher richness and diversity in shrub and herb layers;Cryptomeria fortunei-Cunninghamia lanceolata mixed forest community had a higher richness and diversity in tree layer, but had a lower in shrub and herb layers;Larix kaempferi plantation community's richness was in the middle. There was a difference among the different layers in the communities, and the differences of richness and species diversity indices between the tree layer and shrub layer were significant.
