Reflections on the Realization of Individuals′ Personal Value and Social Value

Everybody has certain personal value and social value. The former is realized in the course of realizing the latter. A basic requirement of Marxist conception of value is the unity of the two. Only under the instruction of Marxism and by mastering and complying with the law of historical development can one truly achieve the unity of his personal value and social value. Under the current circumstances of China, we should set the collectivism based socialist conception of value as the dominant one of our times. Pursuing the value of collectivism will effectively create harmony between personal value and social value and give expression to the scientific Marxist theory of man′s value on the initial stage of socialism.
