Abstract

The experiment of runoff plot under the condition of natural rainfall was conducted to study the roles of natural fiber textiles made of rice straw and palm in soil water loss control in slope arable field red soil. The research results were as followed: effective reduction of soil water loss,697.67 m3 runoff and 6.44 t/hm2 erosion in the covered plot;in contrast,1728.19 m3 runoff and 111.98 t/hm2 erosion in non-covered area;almost 2.48 times of the runoff and 17 times of the erosion of mulch covered area.Besides, the relation between rainfall factors and the amount of the runoff erosion revealed that the stronger rainfall the bigger runoff and erosion. In addition, the erosion amount was related not only to the runoff amount but also to human activities.
