Abstract

Based on the characteristics of urban expressway on-ramp control, the control strategy and flow are(designed) in this paper, which take expressway and surface streets into account. To make the most of expressway (capacity),the metering rate is calculated depending on the mainline data.Once surface street service level is(unacceptable) because of traffic diversion caused by ramp control, either the metering rate will be modified or the(on-ramp) will be closed.
