Abstract
The electrochemical behavior of the sphalerite leaching process is investigated with suspending slurry of sphalerite by the three-electrode method. The results show that H_2S appears as the intermediate product in the leaching process. The role of ferric ions played in the leaching process is not negligible, since the oxidation of the sphalerite by oxygen is poor while no ferric ions in leaching medium. The presence of chloride can intensify the sphalerite leaching process.
