Grassland degradation and ecological restoration in Western China

The causes of grassland degradation in Western China and the ecological restoration measures were discussed in this paper.The preliminary conclusions are as follows:Fragile ecological environment is internally the secondary agent,while human activities such as disturbance and unreasonable utilization were the major driving forces for grassland degradation.Climate changes like warming and drying are also somewhat externally pushing the degradation on.Grassland improvement,grassland fencing and establishment of artificial grassland are the feasible measures of ecological restoration for light,medium and heavy degraded grassland respectively.
