Projecting forehead with frontalis and epicranial aponeurosis flaps fold while forehead and temporal rhytidectomy

Objective To investigate a new projecting forehead while forehead and temporal rhytidectomy,in order to assess the value of it.Methods Eight patients who suffered from forehead and temporal aging skin and forehead flat were selected to use this new method.The scalps were lift under epicranial aponeurosis through coronal incision.And then the frontalis and epicranial aponeurosis flaps were fold and cushioned in the forehead after they were separated from the scalps.The forehead skin was lifted and sutured at last.Results The effect of all patients was pleasing after six months follow-up.There were no nerve and hair damaged in these operations.Conclusion The effect of projecting forehead were improved and the redundant tissue could be used sufficiently.The effect of these two operations was pleasing and they could be made simultaneously.
