Abstract

Translational medicine aims to promote the transition of laboratory discoveries into treatments for patients, which has been one part of some countries' medical research priorities. For example,National Institue of Health(NIH)launches the Clinical and Translational Science Awards(CTSA)in US,the Office for Strategic Co-ordination of Health Research(OSCHR)focuses on translational medicine in UK,and France makes clinical research projects.Translational medicine study has just started in China, which concludes establishing research-based hospital, holding conferences on translational medicine, launching translational medicine research centers, and integrating it into China health Sci-tech strategy. In accordance with the status quo of China's medical research, this paper analyses the development process of international translational medicine and gives some policy suggestions, such as,to establish award for translational medicine,to select the priority field from health demand,to reform the research management,to implement the medical research in large-size hospitals, etc.
