Study Progress on Pharmacological Postconditioning

Ischemia/reperfusion injury is a familiar pathophysiological process in clinic.Ischemic postconditioning applied at the onset of reperfusion following a specific prescribed algorithm is a series of brief mechanical interruptions of reperfusion,and affords protection in vivo.Pharmacological postconditioning which is defined as medicine administration before reperfusion or in the early minitues of reperfusion is a pattern against organ ischemia-reperfusion injury,Pharmacological postconditioning has similarly protective mechanism with ischemic preconditioning(IPC)and ischemic postconditioning(I-PostC).Compared to IPC and I-PostC,Pharmacological postconditioning is more worth of clinical application,and may provide a new therapy strategy for organ reperfusion injury.
