Abstract
To improve the spatial data representation for their subsequent processing,a description for spatial objects is indispensable. According to four types of intrinsic properties of spatial objects,spatial semantics rules were designed which can accurately represent spatial objects. With the spatial data represented by means of spatial ontologies and classified by spatial taxonomies,the spatial data processing can be elevated to knowledge discovery. Thus,the accuracy of spatial information query can be greatly improved.
