Abstract

Using transmission electron microscopy techniques, the anther and microspore development were studied,in order to obtain differences between CMSPM and its maintainer line of Brassica oleracea L.var.capitata L..The results showed that pollen mother cells(PMC)of CMSPM was irregular. Thus meiosis of PMC was influenced seriously.During mononuclear stage, the tapetal cells did not degenerated and expand abnormally, pressing the microsporocyte made to be out of shape, and microspore appeared serious plasmolysis phenomenon. Finally degradation of microspore and tapetal cells was full of the whole pollen sac which caused the anther abortion.
