The effect of different form of nifedipine in elderly patients with primary hypertension

Objective To observe the effects of nifedipine and its control releasing tablet on blood pressure,blood lipid,blood glucose and renal function aged in patients with hypertension.Methods 98 aged patients with hypertension were divided into nifedipine group(10mg,three times a day) and control releasing nefidipine group(30mg,once a day) for 6 weeks.Results Compared to the nifedipine group,the reduction of blood pressure was more significant in control releasing nifedipine group without interfering the HRV day and night rhythm,bolld lipid,blood glucose and renal function had no obvious changes in both groups.Conclusion Both nifedipine and its control releasing tablet all can reduce blood pressure effectively,have no influence on blood lipid,blood glucose and renal function,but control releasing nifediping can get smoother and more sustainable blood pressure control than nifedipine.
