Endless Love for Landscape Architecture and Two Generations' Dedicated to Shanghai Landscaping Undertakings——CHENG Shifu and CHENG Xuke

Professor Cheng Xuke and her father Professor Mr. Cheng Shifu are both well-known senior experts in Chinese landscaping industry. They are two-generation contributors to landscaping cause. Professor Cheng Shifu proposed that landscape construction should be guided by ecological theories and the planning of landscape city should start from practice,and the systematic conception of grand landscape should be established. Professor Cheng Xuke has been dedicated to the study of ecological landscape theories and the practices of six kinds of ecological landscape green space. She especially advocates the healthcare ecological landscape in residential area in that it is the stage for city,economy,society,culture,science,and human activities. She proposed the viewpoint of landscape as public goods in landscape economic management,and the idea of rural-urban integration and building green corridor in urban green space construction planning. Professor Cheng Xuke in her more than 60-year landscaping experience adheres to theoretical and practical innovation,authoring books that exert a deep influence in domestic and overseas landscaping industry.
